Insitekaltim, Samarinda – Students of SMA Negeri 16 Samarinda had the unique opportunity to interact with an international speaker during a special seminar titled Motivation for Success, held on Thursday, 20 February 2025. The event welcomed a keynote speaker from Germany, Anton Adam Raushenbach, accompanied by his wife, Tisya Anugrah, aiming to broaden students’ perspectives on education and life abroad.

The seminar was attended by 50 students from grades X and XI, along with teachers and school staff. It began with an opening prayer led by Mr. Taufik, the school’s religion teacher, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and the school’s official march, Mars Smanas.

In his opening remarks, the principal of SMA Negeri 16 Samarinda, Abdul Rozak Fahrudin, emphasized the importance of such events as a gateway for students to gain international insights.

“This is a valuable opportunity for students to learn from global experiences. I encourage all of you to actively engage and make the most out of this seminar,” said Abdul Rozak.

He highlighted that exposure to foreign cultures and education systems could inspire students to pursue academic and personal growth beyond Indonesia.

During the main session, Anton and Tisya delivered an insightful presentation on the German education system, highlighting the advantages and unique aspects of studying in Germany. They also shared personal experiences of overcoming challenges while living and working internationally.

Anton motivated the students by emphasizing the importance of courage, curiosity, and resilience in achieving success. He encouraged them to explore opportunities abroad, reminding them that a positive mindset and perseverance are key to reaching their dreams.

“Be brave to step out of your comfort zone. A new place can shape you into a stronger and better person,” Anton advised the students.

The seminar was particularly lively during the Q&A session, where students eagerly asked about studying opportunities in Germany and life in Europe. Their curiosity reflected a growing interest in seeking education beyond borders.

After the seminar, the guests were invited to tour the school. Anton and Tisya were impressed by the school’s spacious and well-maintained facilities. They visited several classrooms, exchanging greetings and taking photos with enthusiastic students.

A delightful surprise awaited Anton when he was invited to sample traditional Indonesian dishes prepared by grade XII students during their practical exam. Among the various foods he tasted, tempe orek became his favorite.

“It’s hard to pick the best one because everything is delicious. But I must say, tempe orek is outstanding,” Anton remarked.

The seminar concluded with a certificate presentation and a group photo session. Principal Abdul Rozak expressed his gratitude to all parties involved, hoping that similar programs would continue in the future.

“This seminar has provided our students with knowledge, inspiration, and a broader outlook. We hope this will ignite their spirit to aim higher in their academic journeys,” he said.
