Insitekaltim, Samarinda – Perjuangan Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) Kota Samarinda, dalam memenuhi stok darah agar tidak kosong sangat luar biasa. Yang mana diketahui, sebelum Ramadan stok darah selalu menipis.
Tingkat penurunan pendonor begitu terasa di bulan Ramadan ini. Ditambah lagi masyarakat takut keluar, karena pandemi corona virus disease 19 (Covid-19).
Plt Kepala Unit Transfusi Darah (UTD) PMI Kota Samarinda, dr Helda Fitriany, kepada Insitekaltim.com, Minggu (10/5/2020), menyampaikan, kurangnya stok darah ini karena saat wabah Covid-19. Kegiatan mobile unit ke instansi atau perusahaan tidak beroperasi.
“Sehingga otomatis pemasukan darah berkurang. Sedangkan permintaan darah terus bertambah,” bebernya.
Ia menjelaskan, banyak sekali yang memerlukan transfusi darah, seperti penyakit kanker, serta pasien cuci darah pun tetap tinggi permintaannya. Sehingga stok darah pun menipis.
“Bulan lalu UTD PMI per 16 – 17 April, melakukan gebyar donor darah dengan target 700 kantong, untuk stok selama bulan Ramadan,” tuturnya.
Menurutnya, saat bulan puasa jumlah pendonor sangat turun drastis. Ya mungkin karena puasa jadi takut lemes, takut tidak kuat puasanya. “Padahal dengan mendonor saat Ramadan ini sangat baik, namun memang harus orang yang sehat,” sambungnya.
Lebih lanjut, Helda menyampaikan, kebutuhan darah setiap hari keluar 100 – 120 kantong. Sedangkan stok sebelum ramadan hanya 700.
“Namun, alhamdulillah kami dapat bantuan dari TNI, Polisi, Brimob, Gereja, Wihara dan Kadin Kaltim, yang ikut serta mengadakan kegiatan donor darah. Sehingga masih terpenuhi saja hingga saat ini,” ungkapnya.
Helda berharap, masyarakat agar tetap mendonorkan darahnya jika memang waktunya tiba. Jika memang merasakan diri sedang sehat, agar segera mendonorkan darahnya. “Kami selalu siap menerima donor darah dari masyarakat,” pungkasnya.
