Insitekaltim,Balikpapan – Staff Ahli Gubernur Sumatera Barat (Sumbar) Jasman Rizal soroti maraknya media online yang tidak terkendali. Terdapat lebih dari 1300 media online aktif di Sumatera Barat (Sumbar), meskipun anggaran yang tersedia sangat terbatas.
“Saya melihat banyak media online yang tumbuh tanpa pengawasan. Ada lebih dari 1300 media online, padahal anggaran yang kita miliki sangat terbatas,” ungkap Jasman saat jadi narsum di Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Pengelolaan Media di Novotel Balikpapan, Jumat (15/9/2023).
Jasman hadir sebagai narasumber utama dalam acara FGD tentang pengelolaan media yang diselenggarakan oleh Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika (Diskominfo) Kalimantan Timur (Kaltim).
Ia juga menyoroti fakta bahwa sejumlah media online tidak mematuhi aturan dan etika jurnalistik yang berlaku. Bahkan, beberapa di antaranya dioperasikan oleh individu yang sebelumnya tidak memiliki latar belakang sebagai wartawan, dan kantor mereka hanya berupa ponsel.
“Kemudian lagi saya melihat banyak media yang tidak mematuhi aturan yang berlaku, bahkan ada yang dijalankan oleh orang yang sebelumnya tidak berprofesi sebagai wartawan,” tambahnya.
Sebagai respons terhadap masalah ini, Pemerintah Provinsi (Pemprov) Sumbar telah mengeluarkan Peraturan Gubernur (Pergub) tentang Pengelolaan Media Online. Pergub ini mewajibkan media online untuk terdaftar dan verifikasi oleh Dewan Pers minimal administrasi, dengan salah satu syarat utama adalah keberadaan wartawan utama dalam setiap media tersebut.
Langkah ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kerangka kerja yang jelas dan meningkatkan standar kualitas dalam dunia jurnalistik online. Pemprov Sumbar berharap dengan tindakan tegas ini, integritas dan kualitas informasi yang disampaikan oleh media online di wilayah tersebut dapat dipertahankan, menjadikannya upaya konkret dalam mendukung jurnalisme yang bertanggung jawab.
